Both teams to score

Both teams to score: Each side scores at least once

Both teams to score, often written BTTS or GG, wins when each side has at least one goal at full time. One-one, two-one, and three-two all win. Two-nil, three-nil, and one-nil all lose, because one team finished on zero.

The winner of the match does not matter. A team can lose two-one and the both-teams bet still wins. A team can win three-nil and the both-teams bet loses. If you wanted the favourite to win, this is the wrong market.

It is also different from a goals total. Two-nil is two goals, so it wins over 1.5, and it loses both teams to score. One-one is two goals and it wins both. Read the row as a bet about both attacks, not about the size of the score.

A 2oddspredict row on this page means the published tip is both teams to score. Use the match page to see whether these sides have been keeping clean sheets or conceding. A clean-sheet run is a reason to doubt the bet. A short run is not a rate.

A goalkeeper change, a missing centre back, or a visitor that rarely scores away can break the idea. Check the lineup. The tip was stored before those late changes.

A common mistake is to combine both teams to score with a very short favourite in the same accumulator and treat it as one thought. They can lose independently: the favourite can win to nil, or both teams can score in a draw.

Give each team a chance of scoring, not just the match a chance of goals. Stake a fixed unit only if both chances still look live after the team news. Skip matches where one side has no obvious way to score.
